Knoxville 2018

Call it White Lightning, call it Mountain Dew, or Hooch.  Whatever you call it Moonshine is a part of the heritage of Tennessee and Ijams Nature Center is the perfect setting for The Moonlight Bootlegger 5K!  Just like our bootleggin’ ancestors, see if you can make it through the moonlit woods to get to the stompin’ grounds, where you can enjoy some moonshine cocktails and flatfoot it to live music.

This will be our third year bootleggin’ in Knoxville and each year the event has grown, and become even more fun!  Come check us out!

Schedule of Events

Race Day – Saturday, July 1st:
  • Packet Pickup: 6:50 PM – 8:40 PM
  • Prerace meeting: 8:50 PM
  • Race Start: 9:00 PM (each consecutive wave will start 3 minutes apart)
  • Awards: Approx. 10:15 PM

Runner –
  • Soft cotton gender specific race T-Shirt! (Register by July 12th to guarantee a shirt.)

Spectator – (pass not required to attend the race)

Timing / Awards

The Moonlight Bootlegger 5K will be chip timed.

Awards to the top 3 overall males and top 3 overall females. Awards to the top 3 males and females in the following age groups in each race: 20 and under, 21-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

Rules & Guidelines

ATHLETES MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH EITHER A FLASHLIGHT OR HEADLAMP TO PARTICIPATE!!

In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on the race website.

No refunds for any reason will be issued for this event within 30 days of the event start date. Earlier than 30 days before the event, a request may be made for a 50% refund (this will be 50% of entry fee, excluding any processing fees). Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to this refund policy.
