For 2019 and 2020 this will be the fifth race in the Michigan State Parks Centennial Race Series. This series is an opportunity to celebrate and explore 100 amazing years of state parks in Michigan! Each race in the series will have a special commemorative coin that all athletes will receive!
We are headed back to where it all began for Bootlegger 5K’s in West Michigan, Ionia State Recreation Area! This year The Moonlight Bootlegger 5K will be a part of the State Park Centennial Race Series! That means more prizes for you, and an even more fun course! This will be year five or Bootleggin’ in West Michigan. See if you can make it through the moonlit trails to the finishline where you will be greated with live old timey music, moonshine cocktails, and finishers medals and glasses!

*Spectator pass is not required to watch the event. The spectator pass will get the purchaser a commemorative glass and two moonshine cocktails.
This race takes place at a Michigan State Park, so all vehicles are required to have a Recreation Passport to enter. You can get one ahead of time for $11 annually ($16 at the gate) for MI residents, or $9 for an out-of-state day pass.

Timing / Awards
The Moonlight Bootlegger 5K will be chip timed.
Awards to the top 3 overall males and top 3 overall females. Awards to the top 3 males and females in the following age groups in each race: 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
Parking
Parking will be available in the beach parking lot. Follow signs from the entrance to get to the correct lot.
Rules & Guidelines
ATHLETES MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH EITHER A FLASHLIGHT OR HEADLAMP TO PARTICIPATE!! In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Race Director or Race Committee (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available at a location to be determined. Information will be available on the race website.
